Life Coaching
Why should you work with a coach?

What is a Life Coach?

A coach is someone who works with you to help you identify those parts of yourself that are blocking your blessings, holding you back and keeping you from living the life you want. Just like a basketball coach, a lifestyle coach assists you in playing your best hand at life, encouraging you to do your best according to your inner ability and bringing out the qualities that you did not recognize were there.

A life coach is NOT someone that is going to hold your hand and assist you in staying where you are. A good life coach will push you into areas that you would not have otherwised traveled in order to bring out your talents as well as bring you into recognition of the ways in which you have been blocking your own blessings. This includes pointing you back to yourself when you fall into the trap of blaming someone else. A good coach doesn't make things easy for you; they are going to expect you to put forth your best effort.

Before you begin any type of coaching with Anita, the first few sessions that are required will be geared towards helping you get in touch with your authentic self; learning the real reasons behind your previous actions; teaching you how to speak up for who your really are and thus assisting you with being able to articulate this to those around you.

These sessions are life-altering alone. Imagine going into your coaching sessions being able to speak the truth about who you are and who you want to be. Instead of wasting time living the life and being the person that others have set for you. This is what a coach does for you.

Is there ever an occasion when a life coach will turn you away?

Yes there is. Unless the lifestyle coach is also a licensed counselor, once she determines that you may require more specialized attention than she is qualified to give, then it is her responsibility to bring this to your attention and to recommend that you seek assistance with those other areas of your life first. Lifestyle coaching is not about writing prescriptions for depression medication or behaving as a substitute for actual psychiatric counseling, but more of a personal cheerleader, a fairy god mother, if you will, that points you in the direction of the "yellow brick road" by pointing out to you how you get there.

What will be my role?

As your lifestyle coach, I will assist you in identifying your blockages, both personal and physical, recognize your life's purpose and then work with you to figure out a plan to do your life's work. This is done by creating goals for the main areas in your life, breaking those down into tasks and then creating a realistic timeline in order to make these things happen.

I also help you to communicate more effectively, identify your fears, work through them as well as identify those things, situations and people that are holding you back. Your sessions are never about what "they did to you" or what "they didn't allow you to do" but more on what you allowed them to project onto you" and how you can change that.

My philosophy is, "If it is not on the way, it's in the way, so let's move it out of the way". I do this by being nurturing, honest and straight to the point. By telling it like it is you are able to understand in a safe setting, what it is you need to do for you and how sometimes YOU are your biggest block and unfortunately...the hardest person to convince otherwise.

How is life coaching to your advantage?

By showing and sharing with you that you are not the first woman to have gone through these sorts of things, nor will you be the last. With you taking the time to really getting to know YOU, you will feel:
· a higher sense of self-esteem
· realization that you are your own GODDESS and no one can ever take that from you
· confidence in setting personal boundaries and making others respect them
· the ability to communicate with others effectively, both in listening as well as communicating, by first learning to communicate with your authentic self.
· less stressed and overwhelmed

My sharp tongue and straight-to-the-point words are a result of years of being kept silent; struggling with who I was inside for the benefit of my family as well as society; and just plain ole fashioned "That's enough" attitude.

Isn't it time you did something strictly for you for a change? Who wouldn't benefit from 1-2 hours a week solely devoted to their personal growth, where they had nothing else to worry about or be concerned about but their very own well-being?
